ISLAMIC HERITAGE IN A HINDU CITY
Varanasi has always been associated with her Hindu tradition and history; however, the city has also been the home for a vibrant Muslim community, whose lineage goes back to 1300 CE. Islamic patronage of the arts, heritage & architecture has shaped the city as we know it today. This walk will take you through charming little-known areas and past monuments, textile houses and sacred places of the local Muslim community.
