THE SACRED CIRCLE: PANCHKOSHI YATRA
The Panchkoshi Yatra is a 13th century pilgrimage route (yatra) that circumnavigates the holy City of Varanasi; as one travels the road clockwise in a circle, keeping the city on one’s right, the city itself becomes both sacred image and temple.
This road is walked by thousands of devotees as Panchkoshi Yatra for one week every year. Additionally, the sacred circle road attracts visitors and pilgrims throughout the seasons to its famous temples. Traditionally walked over five days, we would visit the entire perimeter of five sacred stops within a half day journey by taxi, which begins in an urban area, becoming progressively rural and finally returning to the city at the end.
If you would like a unique experience with the comfort of a car and light walking, then this is the tour for you!
