THE THRONE OF THE GODDESS: VINDHYACHAL TRIP
Ninety kilometres from Varanasi, next to the town of Mirzapur, is the ancient site of Vindhyachal. Notably one of the 51 shaktipeeth (seats of the Goddess), this 25 square kilometre area is replete with powerful temples and equally vibrant yet serene power spots for meditation and ritual worship.
You will see the mighty Vindhyavasini Devi, the patron goddess of the region who is a representation of the Vindhya mountains themselves. From there we visit Kali Koh (“The Cave of Kali”), the temple of the many-armed Ashtabhuja, a serene Shiva temple by a sacred pool, a marvelous stepwell, as well as various other temples & sites of renowned importance.
Join us for an amazing day trip by air-conditioned taxi as we travel dusty roads into the interiors of India, passing by small towns and village fields. We will enjoy a picnic lunch while visiting this incredible sacred location that few tourists manage to explore.
